About Burque Bioneers

Dear Supporters of Burque Bioneers:

We’re writing to let you know that Burque Bioneers has decided to cancel this October’s conference, and re-direct our efforts. Because we have been struggling with capacity (longterm committed volunteers), we have decided to direct our energies into three areas: film screenings, looking for an organization to take on the Burque Bioneers conversation, and a service project sometime in the early spring.

First, we’ll continue to do screenings once a month. The past two months we’ve had really great attendance and an engaged audience. You can expect to see films like Connected, Watershed, and other amazing documentaries. In addition, we will be screening Beaming Bioneers talks at each film screening.

We are looking for a community organization or institutional entity that would like to take on Burque Bioneers. While we believe that there’s real power in grassroots efforts, long term volunteerism isn’t sustainable right now, particularly for this project. We are looking for a school, community group, or institution with additional and established capacity to take on Burque Bioneers. If you are involved with a group who has been looking for a vehicle to discuss issues like water, natural resources, social issues, and more, Burque Bioneers could be just the project. Please email us if you or your group is interested in carrying on the Burque Bioneers conversation.

Finally, we are going to ask the the Open Space Alliance take our residual funds and put them towards the pollinator planting project we planned to happen in conjunction with the conference this fall. We will work with representatives from Open Space to manifest this project in the early spring. If you are on our listserv, you will be notified of when we will be doing this work, and how you can participate.

We would like to thank all of your for your ongoing support of our local group, and hope we can continue the conversation!

Best,

Burque Bioneers
